(Sold)FERNANDES JG-45

owner: Shin

2014.10.11: I found this guitar when I went to sell Tony Mocking.
The price was quite good, 29800 yen with missing arms, but I thought it was a cool and unusual design at the time.
I thought it was a cool guitar with a rare design at the time. I was a bit nervous about the price, but later I found it listed on the internet for 1000 yen, and I bid what I could afford and won the auction.
I went to pick it up in person because it was in an area I could get to, but the designated place was quite far from the station, so I remember walking around a lot.
It was listed as one owner and had not been used, so there was light rust on the metal and the neck was warped, but the PG protection was still there and had been removed at the time of the auction.
It was listed as having only the arm as an accessory, but since he came to pick it up, he gave me a soft case and I looked in his pocket and found a complete set of manuals and adjustment wrenches for this one.
6.28.2015 I checked the circuit and found a Gotoh PU installed in stock.
I was concerned about noise, but the only thing I could think of was that the wiring was clean and there was no aluminum tape on it.
The back of the bridge was floating, but that was caused by over-tightening the studs.
2015.7.12: I applied aluminum tape to the pickguard and back panel, conductive paint to the circuit and arcing and the noise was well improved! 7.12.2015.
Jacks were also replaced with Switch Craft ones, Vol pots were replaced with CTS ones and pot holes were extended by hand, tone capacitors were replaced with orange drops.
I changed the gauge to 10-60 and drop B, as the first string was broken in regular tuning.
2015.8.9: Changed the gauge to 12-60 to stabilize the tension of the first three strings a bit more, and replaced all three springs with SCUD power springs.
March 27, 2016: PU replaced, CTS pots returned to stock, and ground wiring rewired.
Also changed the tuning to two notes lower with the gauge still at 12-60.
Aug. 16, 2016: PU returned to stock GOTOH and capacitor replaced with the cheap green one from a Bacchus SG.
Also changed the strings to 10-46 and the springs to the original ones plus 1 for a 4-stringer.
2016.9: Sold.
It was a study piece with various customizations and adjustments.

When I got it, the overtones on the stock GOTOH were not very good, and the sound was easily muffled
I replaced both the front and back with the ones on the Randy I got later, and I think the overtones came out better. I think it's because it was down-tuned. I also rewired it, which may have been a big factor.
