(Sold)AriaProⅡ/MK-1800WA

owner: Shin

2020.1.12: I bought this guitar at a store that sells vintage guitars.
I went there once and couldn't remember where it was. I was walking around and happened to find the store for the first time in a few years.
It has a through neck construction, but there is a mysterious crack in the paint where the set neck joins, but other than that it is in good condition.
The frets are worn but still high enough, but the nut feels high.
Please search the blog for more details about the instrument.
I would consider it as top of the line based on the catalog and PU.
I assume the strap pins and escutcheon have been replaced.
2020.2.26: When I took the instrument to the workshop for rewiring, I asked them to check if the body material is really walnut, and they said that it is probably maple because they are sure that it is colored by looking at the burrs.
The reason for the cracks was that the body is a pancake structure and the cracks were at the joints.
May 12, 2020: After about two and a half months in the hospital, the electrical components were replaced with current ones except for the preamp and varitone switch, and the frets were fretted to a level that would compete with modern guitars.
The phase switch was changed to a series/tap/parallel effect for each PU, as it is not used nowadays.
The PUs have been potted and the resonance is better.
Compared to the circuit before the work, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the wiring and the margin for the battery space.
The Varitone capacitors were all replaced with the current film capacitors by myself.
2024.8: I noticed that the front PU was mounted in the opposite direction from the theory, so I changed the wiring so that the direction is reversed and the hum is canceled even with front and rear coil tap mixes.
I removed a broken screw from a strap pin that was buried in the back of the body, and found another screw buried in the back that I couldn't see.
I tried to give it back to the player as much as possible, but it didn't look like it would be able to be used on stage in the future, so I sold it.

sound features

The maple body and ebony fretboard give the guitar a certain contour of sound, but the through-neck and Super Distortion characteristics, or perhaps the unique mildness that makes it different from Les Pauls and Strats, made it difficult for me to handle, and I did not feel comfortable playing it without the use of effectors.
