FERNANDES/FR-ELT PROTO
owner: Shin
2020.10.25: This is a prototype made around 2010 or so, since it wasn't that long after the serial and "Made in Japan" started appearing on the back of the head.
I think about 5 or 6 were made, and I've seen this one with a maple fretboard, this one with a black fretboard, and the red and blue ones with a rose fretboard both online and in stores.
The acrylic pickguard is decorated with Swarovski, the pegs are GOTOH's top model, and it has a through neck.
I don't think it has been modified, but both pots are A250kΩ for some reason, the tone has an orange drop for hum, there are only two semi-fixed resistor trims instead of four, and the voltage booster is wired to the board without being wired. The voltage multiplier is wired off the board for some reason.
2021.3.6: The PU was changed to EMG specification, and the dummy cover next to the driver was also changed to 3PU specification.
The sustainer board was cut for 2PU and the circuit was omitted, so I had it replaced with MY-115S.
Only the switch is noticeably deteriorated.
I am grateful to the repairman who was able to finish it so that the sustainer works well even with this special specification.
Although I cannot recommend this customization because it is not practical, I was also able to feel again that the setup was always done to minimize the difference in sound between the driver and PU.
