This is a low-cost version of the Karl Höfner Violin Bass 500-1 model, produced in Indonesia since 2010.
I saw it at a music store and generally bought it on the spur of the moment. I had seen a violin bass made by Epiphone a few days ago, but I could not resist the charm of the Höfner logo.
