2015.9.6: I've been interested in this Fender Mexico maple fretboard guitar for a while. ken model has a maple fretboard, but it's painted and pasted maple (lol).
I got it from a flea market app, which I was also interested in, and bought it with a VOX wah pedal and a Fender strap as a free gift.
It also came with a Boss patch cable and a broken distortion effector as a service.
I found out that it was made in Mexico with parts from Squier and Fender, and the price was about 40,000-50,000.
When I got it, each pot was 500k ohm, and there was a switch to turn on the front, but it was just a dummy.
The wiring was done by a professional, but the solder is too much and it's amateur level. The brick work is too rough and the clear is sprayed on.
I'm not even sure it's really a FenderMexico except for the neck because of this condition.
2015.9.19: Assembled the replacement parts.
Tension pins -> SCUD tubular chrome
Each pot -> CTS A250kΩ
Capacitor -> Orange drop
Painted conductive paint in the cavity and added grounding.
Bridge saddle screws were replaced with 1/4" potato screws.
Bridge spring was replaced with a new one as strong as Fenjapa's.
Rewired to 1vol/1tone, and changed the lower tone knob to a direct switch.
The dummy switch was wired so that the front PU can be turned on properly, but when the direct switch is on, it does not work due to the wiring configuration.
Wiring material was changed to Belden 8503.
Solder with kester.
Reattached aluminum tape all over the back of the pickguard.
Jacks were replaced with switch craft jacks.
The 5-way selector was changed from a box type to an open type due to poor contact only at the center.
The knob was changed to a MONTREUX knob for both inches and millimeters.
Strap pin→replaced with a SCUD lock pin.
2015.10.18: I tried to change the pickguard, but the size did not fit at all. While opening the pickguard, I changed the switch from the bottom to the middle tone position, and changed the effect from a direct switch to a turbo switch that directly connects the center and rear.
I swapped the center PU with the front PU and made it the same as when I got it, and I think the noise and balance are better.
If you turn on both the turbo switch and the front PU on switch, you can turn on 3 PUs at the same time even if you leave the 5-way switch rear.
2016.1: I sold it because it was used infrequently.
