(Sold)EDWARDS ECL-90V
owner: Shin
2016.11.20: I received this one because I bought a 7-string Schecter the day before this one came in, so my motivation to restore it was halved, lol.
I was thinking of buying a Sugizo model Edwards if there was any good one, and this type is rarely seen anymore, so I won the bid just because it was a rarity.
This is the fifth Sugizo model that I have purchased in total, and I have given up all of them due to neck defects.
I have all the parts for now except for the missing bridge saddle and screws, so I'm going to try to make it playable.
2016.11.30: Assembled.
Jack = switch craft, 3-way lever SW = VLX54, new 5th and 6th string saddles and screws, redid the wiring material with Belden and Kester, and applied conductive paint to the circuit and grounded it out again.
I think it works well enough.
The frets have been used after being rubbed together and are a little hard to play with about 50-60% remaining.
The fretboard has lost a lot of its black coloring, indicating that it has been played quite a bit.
The binding on the first string side is a little bit floaty, but I think it is the best neck I have ever seen.
However, it is still hard to play after the 22nd fret.
I'm considering fretting it in the future because I love the way it's built and it's my first guitar with a P90 PU, so I'm sure I can use it for something other than LUNA SEA.
2019: I had the frets re-fretted.
I also had the binding repaired and dyed black.
Only the fingerboard surface looks like new since only the neck surface was scraped off and turned to its original white color by the fingerboard repair, lol.
2022.1: I sold it because I was no longer in the band and no longer picked it up and was satisfied with it as a collectible.
