1999-2003 VAI models
owner: Kagura Mai
While Steve Vai's signature JEM7V is a high note solo instrument, the JEM7D is a low note instrument for playing together or as part of a band. The bass-oriented design means that there is no scalloping. It does not have the standard tree of life inlay. I think I was able to afford it because it was a little cheaper for that reason. The pegs have been replaced with Magnum locks, and an arming adjuster has been installed on the back of the body to improve the stability of floating tuning.
