ESP HORIZON (1989?)
owner:
Shin
2017.5.11: I acquired this model with the reverse headstock and inlays I'd been searching for, already modified with the tremolo unit swapped from a Sinclair to a Floyd Rose Special. The exact same model appears in the 1989 catalog on the HORIZON history website. At the time of acquisition, the rear pickup had been replaced with a TB-4. The front might be stock?
2017.9.12: Replaced with original Floyd Rose. 2020.2.18: Converted from 2 volume knobs to 1 volume, using the spare hole for a coil-tap switch for the rear humbucker. 2021.10.30: During maintenance, noticed one fret on the 6th string side was bent and hammered down. Also found scratches on the fingerboard near the high positions, indicating previous fret replacement.
The bridge routing also has a DIY feel, suggesting it wasn't done by a skilled craftsman. I had the frets replaced with Jescar 57110 nickel ones and had it re-set up aiming for the playability of a Jackson Soloist. The binding at the headstock tip was also peeling, so I had that repaired.

Would it be possible to get more pictures of this particular guitar?
What kind of images would you like to see?
Hi, Shin! I have the very same one made in 1990, would like to know year of production of yours and maybe closeup pictures of inlays, headstock, etc :)
I think I only've seen 5 or 6 of them on the web
1. mine
2. yours
3. one that was on sale with white pickups
4. one in Finland (fully refinished, had broken headstock)
5. one on sale long ago, nothing special(10 years+)
This guitar was likely made for promotional purposes, and the word "Sales" has been written in Japanese on the pickup cavity.
I haven't confirmed the exact year, but the specifications suggest it's from around 1989.
I've also seen three other guitars of the same red color, including my own, on a Japanese auction site, and one is in good condition and appears to be fully original, while the other has a damaged head.
I'll add more photos at a later date.
I'd love it if you could post yours as well!
I really like the logo placement on yours!
Just posted mine, check my profile.
