RY GUITAR/Tele-shape order
owner: Shin
2020.9.17: This is my first order with my current ideals and specifications that I don't see in products at all.
It has a Schaller S-FRT-II without bridge recess, reverse head, medium scale and back contour, so it is easier to play than a normal Telecas even if you are sitting down. It is easier to play than a normal Telecas.
I had an extra HATA joint plate, so I didn't do any heel-less modification just to use it.
I put two strap pins on the end side like Tom Anne, so there is no stress when you stand up, and you can change the position when you play standing up depending on your mood.
Only the toggle switch is fastened with a nut from the top of the PG due to its length, but everything is directly attached to the body, and the mini switch and knob are dropped in, just like the Killer.
The front PU is a counterbore that can accommodate a P90, and the PG is made separately for this purpose.
I was also considering using acrylic for the PG, but I thought it would be too subtle to show the extra counterbore, so I ended up hiding a lot of the nice wood grain...
The position inlays are mother-of-pearl, including the sides.
Normally, I would use a PU specification that hangs from the escutcheon or PG, but I decided to use this specification for the purpose of experimenting with the many direct-mount PUs that were given to me.
I also used it to experiment with the many direct-mount PUs that were given to me.
I realized afterwards that the guitar looks like a different version of G-Life's CROSS EDGE (see below).
2020.10.24: I replaced the rear PU from PAFPro to DualSound.
2020.11.15: I had Altero Custom Guitars widen the hole for the mini-switch since it was just barely the size of the nut.
2020.1.19: I wanted to replace the two mini-switches with shorter ones, so I decided to try a P90-type PG while I was taking them apart, and I replaced the PU with a Duncan SP90-1N/TB-59 as an experiment.
I made this pickguard without a mini-switch, but I used the tone knob as a switch so that I can tap the rear.
The knob's drop-in spec was a little off, so I had it corrected at a later date.
2021.2.24: I put the PG back in and replaced the PU with a TONE ZONE/Air Norton set and changed the mini switch to a shorter knob length.
I was going to use another covered type PU but it didn't fit in the PG lol.
2021.8.14: I changed the PU back to a Dual Sound/PAFPro set.
I replaced the sustain block with a brass big block and set up the springs with two GOTOH power springs in the shape of the letter "C".
