RY Guitar/Full-size Strato-type
owner: Shin
2020.12.9: I had this body assembled from a body that was in the workshop's stock.
The body had been neglected for almost 10 years after being purchased from a factory painted body.
The burst is darker than what you often see on HSH 1P bodies, and the burrs are beautiful.
The pickguard is black/red/black 3ply.
The neck is #6100 stainless steel, which is the thickest fat in Warmoth's standard and the largest fret size that can be specified.
The neck is the thickest fat fret in Warmoth's standard, #6100 stainless steel, which is the largest fret size available.
I didn't feel any difficulty in playing due to the thickness of the fretboard, but once you get used to it, you will be confused for a moment because other necks are too thin (lol).
2021.1.9: It was passive at the time of completion, but I replaced it with EMG because I felt it looked more comfortable.
2021.7.28: I decided to replace it with gold parts if it was going to be an EMG.
I wanted to make it as cheap as possible, so I thought I could use a GOTOH bridge, but it slightly interfered with the counterbore, so I ended up buying a used bridge only lol.
The arm that came with the bridge was black for some reason, so I changed it to a push-in type while replacing it.
I put a 0.3mm spacer on the lock nut last time, but when I assembled it this time, it was not high enough, so I put a 0.5mm spacer that comes with the GOTOH lock nut.
The design of the knob of the peg was changed to a Cruson type knob to make the head a little lighter.
I also had the battery box dug out at the workshop to make battery replacement easier.
The joint plate is a 3mm thick plate made by Freedom, because I thought that a plain gold plate would be too plain.
I wondered if the neck would not warp if it was thicker, but as a result, it warped normally (lol).
2023.3:I wanted to get a strat with only rear hum EMG+Vol, so I replaced the pickguard with a new one based on this guitar.
The guitar is now a mixture of elements of 80's international guitarists.
2024.3: I decided to use this guitar outside for the first time in a while, and I also changed back to the HSH layout to try out some customization I had been thinking about for a while.
The front PU is an 89 inverted and the rear is an 85 for balance with the front.
I removed the EMG tone because it was almost impossible to hear its effect at studio rehearsal volumes, and replaced it with a switch to switch the mode of the front PU.
Basically, it is wired so that the SA mode is the main sound, almost like a lukather specification.
I replaced it with the 2024.10:89R, which I was able to obtain and now realized that the SA-X is a concept model that produces the sound of an 18v drive at 9v.
As before, the fronts are wired to be driven in SA mode, and the switch is turned up to 85 for booster-like use.
