(Sold)Fernandes Reverse Head FR
owner:
Shin
2015.11.16: The second guitar I bought used was a FR-65 similar to this one.
I sold it due to the limited condition of the frets and neck, but I liked the sound of it so much that I was curious about it every time I saw it...
I had a few more of these on Yahoo auctions a year, and the reverse head model that was built around the same time as this one was a very popular solid model, and the shark fin inlay was a model I never saw.
It is amateur scalloped from 13-24f.
It looks like a circa 1990 model, and the only difference from the FR-65 other than the neck is the heel-less joint that continues to the present without the neck joint plate, and the pickups are probably different as well.
2016.1.4: Assembled with replacement parts.
The rear PU was a rare 3-core, so the Vol was made a switch pot so it can be tapped, and the original knob was very dirty, so it was replaced with a new one.
Direct switch replacement
3-way selector ➡schaller
Jack ➡made by switch craft
2019.9.7: Finally got it repaired after owning it for so long lol.
I think it's probably in better condition than it left the factory after fret scuffing, repairing floating studs, and repairing the fretboard peeling.
2023.5: I sold it after redoing the quality when I had just started doing the wiring work and changed the pots to stock.
