RY Guitar/HSH Dinky Type (made to order)

owner: Shin

2020.11.29: I was hoping to make a spec like this one soon, and then I found this one in a private transaction.
I got it directly from the 1st owner, and it seems to have been played a certain amount, as the originally satin-painted neck has a glossy finish and some screws are rusted.
Except for the tremolo springs being replaced with ESP Tremolo Tone Springs Type-1, there seemed to be no changes other than the string height.
The coil tap switch levers for the front and rear hums were a little easy to hit when operating the volume control, so they were changed to shorter ones, and the effect was also changed so that the front PU on one side can be mixed anywhere with the selector ON/OFF to mix the front and rear hums.
The pots also had a heavy rotational torque characteristic of CTS, so we disassembled the pots and replaced the grease inside them, which made them much lighter.
The neck is a Perferro 1P, which is the same as the Warmoth fretboard, and the body is assembled from another factory. The bass plate of the VS100N is not high enough even though it is in the proper position, and the saddle screws are higher than usual.
The shipping strings were 10-46 and the previous owner used them as they were, but the width of the string groove in the nut was very tight and pinched, even with the elixir, so now I have it set up with 09-42.
The tuning is now stable and smooth even when using quite a bit of arm.
The top quilt and the color don't match very well and the grain doesn't stand out that much, which is a bit of a waste...
Thanks for giving me a good price considering the cost of production and parts.
2021.6.23: I replaced the VS100N with a 510TS-BS1 bridge unit to improve the height problem that was bothering me.
The saddle is thicker than the one you often see, so there is no discomfort with the height of the saddle even when the base plate is lowered.
I think I liked the raw sound of the VS100N better, but the tight raw sound, string tension, and hard arming are more like a modern guitar, so it seems that it will remain a handyman despite the change in character.
2021.8.12: I had a lot of trouble with the center FS-1 because of the delicate compatibility of the Mule's output sound, but I replaced all of them by diverting the Suhr PUs I had on hand.
SSV/ML/SSH+ are often found in stock, but my personal impression is that I would have preferred a more rounded PU for the front.
The mix between the hums and the halftone sound is a mix of different sounds, with each having its own character.
2024.10: I wanted to use the center ML for something else, so I replaced it with a V60LP.
The selector was also changed to a 4-circuit, 5-contact circuit with one mini-switch to select hum mix or single in the center position, and another mini-switch to produce a coil tap sound when the front position is selected.
