April 6, 2017.4.6: I finally got the maple fretboard Airakla I've always wanted!
The condition is not so bad in appearance, but it is not so good in many ways, so it is a maintenance prerequisite.
I found it on a mail order site late at night, and since I was in the area I could get to it, I called the next day to place an order. I had noticed many problems when I tried it, but I fell in love with the 24-fret maple fretboard and the coloring, which I had never seen before.
The pegs, bridge, and PU have all been replaced, and you can feel the history of the previous owners.
The head shape is different from the usual, and from the way the paint is burnished, it looks like it was done by past owners.
2017.9.4: The PU and other electrical components have been replaced.
For some reason, the vol pot was for active use, so I replaced it with a CTS A500kΩ and added a high-pass capacitor.
The wiring is set to auto-tap in the halftone position.
2017.10.28: I had the original peg holes filled in, a cover installed on the rear PU, and potting done at the workshop. I also had the guitar finished with conductive paint, rewiring, and screw replacements for playability.
2018.12: The bridge was replaced from a parts replacement guitar.
The bridge was replaced from a guitar that I had taken out for parts. The neck was not set at the correct angle, so I put some shims in the pocket to prevent the bridge from interfering.
2021.12.31: I replaced the center PU with an SSL-5 because the character of the center PU and the humbucker were not compatible.
In addition, I changed the shim for adjusting the neck stocking angle from my own shim to ESP's 0.5mm shim.
2022.2.1: I replaced the vol pot with a CTS B-curve with lighter torque.
The neck shim was also changed to 0.25mm.
I replaced the unmarked joint plate, which had been changed since I bought it, with a 0.3mm one from FCGR.
2025.2: I changed the PU from Duncan to DiMaggio for a change of pace.
I also removed the Vol high-pass filter.
